The Oak Park Apartments project
involves the renovation of an apartment
complex currently containing 56 one
bedroom units in six separate buildings
surrounding a courtyard. About half of
these 56 units are were vacant. AND
and the project sponsor, 26th Ave. Housing
Associates
(an association between
East Bay Asian Local Development
Corporation
and Affordable Housing
Associates
), renovated the project
to accomodate low income families and reconfigured the apartments into 37
one, two, three and four bedroom units
to relieve the overcrowing of several
families in one apartment. Within the
existing buildings there are two
laundry rooms, utility and storage areas.

Additionally, a new Community Building
was built for the residents. This building
includes a multi-purpose room with
residential kitchen, computer room,
resident manager office, two accessible
toilets, and two provate study rooms.
